ABOUT FILEGATHERING_

Archive Philosophy • Preservation Protocols • Digital Archaeology

FILEGATHERING is a digital archive dedicated to collecting, preserving, and documenting forgotten pieces of the internet.

Across the endless network of abandoned domains, deleted pages, corrupted backups, and forgotten storage devices, countless pieces of digital history disappear every day.

This project exists to recover those fragments before they vanish completely.

[ MISSION ]

Preserve old software, websites, documents, media, and digital artifacts that represent the history of the connected world.

[ WHY THIS EXISTS ]

The internet remembers everything, yet somehow forgets everything.

A website disappears. A download link dies. A community shuts down. A piece of software becomes impossible to find.

FILEGATHERING attempts to keep those pieces alive — not because they are perfect, but because they existed.
